What:  A "nationwide conservation force of college and high school volunteers who protect and restore America’s parks, forests, and other public lands".  SCA is a non-profit organization.

Who:  Summer corps are available to high school students (15 to 19 years old).  Internship positions are available to those 18 and older, and crew leader positions to those 21 and older.

Location:  In all 50 states.

Duration:  High school programs last on average 30-35 days.  Internships run 3-12 months.  Leader positions are between 30 days and a year.

Cost/Benefits: High school crew members pay a $25 fee and are provided with food and lodging.  Interns have all expenses paid (housing, food, health insurance, travel, etc.)  Salaried positions are available to corps leaders ($25,000 yearly), and to high school crew leaders (starting pay is $1100 for 30 days).
