What:  An national nonprofit "humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies".  Member of International Red Cross.

Who: Volunteer opportunities exist for all ages.  See your local chapter for more info.  

Location:  All over the U.S.  Training provided here may be useful if looking to work with a Red Cross in another country.

Duration:  Depends on the program.  Can be a few hours a week to an intensive 40+ weeks helping with disaster relief.  

Cost/Benefits: No costs.  All expenses are paid while volunteering.
