What:  A Catholic based organization where volunteers work with the poor through social organizations.  Members live together and are committed to the four pillars of simple living, social justice, spirituality, and community.

Who: Any college graduate or person with equivalent experience who is 21 years or older.  Must believe in the four pillars listed above.

Location: Throughout the U.S.  International programs exist in Belize, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Peru, Tanzania, Nepal, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Duration: U.S. programs are for one year, international programs for two.  Placements begin in August.

Cost/Benefits:  Placement agencies (where volunteers work) cover costs for housing, utilities, a food stipend, transportation to and from work (could be a bus pass or a bicycle), medical insurance and transportation home at the end of the year. In addition, volunteers receive a small personal stipend, the amount of which may differ between regions, to use at their own discretion.  International volunteers receive transportation to their country of service.
