What:  Nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to building houses for the poor and homeless.  Volunteers help with building.

Who: Anyone interested in helping.  Some programs exist for youth, others are for 18 and older.

Location: Throughout the U.S. and worldwide.

Duration: Depends on project.  Ranges from nine day projects to a yearlong commitment through Americorps.

Cost/Benefits:  Program fees range from $900-$2200 and include room, board, travel insurance, and a donation towards the host area.  Americorps positions are also available, see Stepping Out's Americorps page for more info on their benefits and program info.
