Listed below is my educational experience, including traditional schooling, other schooling, work experience, and volunteer experience.  It is listed by category, with most recent first.

I chose to include all the below things because I feel they have all been important in my education.  I am currently a senior in college, and I spent a year between high school and college not in school, and then took another year off throughout my time at the University of Oregon.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Spanish Instructor.  Eastside Elementary School.  Eugene, Oregon.  (October 2005-March 2006)
       
Designed and taught beginner's Spanish to 3rd-5th graders.

Tour Guide.  University of Oregon Clark Honors College.  Eugene, Oregon.  (September 2005-June 2006)
       
Lead prospective students on tours.

Sports Camp Director.  Hillsboro Parks and Recreation.  Hillsboro, Oregon.  (June-August 2005)
       
Responsible for planning and implementing daily lesson plans for soccer, baseball, basketball, and track and field multi-age, day camps.  On-site supervisor of camps and other employees.

Farm and Wilderness Counselor.  Hidden Villa Multicultural Summer Camp.  Los Altos Hills, Ca. (June-August 2004)

         Responsible for twenty 13-15 year olds at a multicultural summer camp which promoted environmental awareness and social justice.  Half the kids were on scholarship from the inner-city.  Taught environmental education and social justice activities and workshops, including teachings on racism, globalization, recycling, and youth activism.  Also took kids on three day backpacking trip.

Program Leader.  Northwest Regional ESD Outdoor Science School.  Salem, Oregon.  (March-June 2003)
         Worked directly with 6th graders and high school counselors 15 hrs daily, teaching natural history lessons, coordinating and leading recreational and campfire activities, training and acting as a mentor for high school students, and supervising 6th graders.

Backcountry Leadership Program Participant.  Northwest Youth Corps.  Frank Church Wilderness, Idaho.  (June-July 2003)
         
Built trail 40 hours a week, living 50 miles backcountry.  Lived in a close-knit community of 12 people and took responsibility for all aspects of community life, including cooking, collecting water, teaching environmental and leadership education programs, and leading the trail crew.

Site Assistant.  Champions After School Program.  Aloha, Oregon.  (October 1999-February 2001)
         
Directed arts and crafts activities and provided general oversight for children ages 6-12.

Designed and taught survival English classes for native Spanish speakers.

Medical Translator.  Volunteers in Medicine.  Eugene, Oregon.  (April 2005-June 2005)
       
Translated for Spanish speaking patients at a free medical clinic.

Farm Worker.  Willing Workers on Organic Farms Worldwide.  Chiapas, Mexico.  (August 2003)reading to kids
        Worked 6 hrs daily on an organic farm in Mexico planting, weeding, composting, and taking care of animals.

Childcare Provider.   La Casa de Esperanza.  Queretaro, Mexico.  (July-August 2003)
        Supervised Spanish-speaking children ages 1-14 while their mothers attended class.

International Workcamp Participant.  Volunteers for Peace.  Wales, France, and Germany.  (September 2001-January 2002).
       
Lived in small communities for two and a half months with people from various nations.  Participated in all aspects of community life and worked 6 hrs daily doing such work as maintaining county parks, renovating a school and a historic castle, working with mentally-disabled adults, and cleaning up a children’s summer camp.

Worked with Spanish-speaking second-graders in an inner-city summer school program, running classroom activities such as math exercises and soar-to-success reading program.

Completed an 18 credit Environmental Studies outdoor semester.  Participated in daily readings, discussions, and writings while kayaking, hiking, and spending time on Indian reservations in central Montana.

Studied Spanish for two months 6 hrs daily in classes with 8 students

Glencoe High School.  Hillsboro, Oregon.  (September 1997-June 2001)
       
Activities and Honors include: Valedictorian, Student Body President, Diversity Club President, Junior Class President, Varsity Track, Most Inspirational Female Track Athlete.  Founded Diversity Club, wrote 7 page proposal, raised $7500, and put on a weeklong Breaking Down the Walls diversity event.
